These in-line (NPN to PNP) or (PNP to NPN) converters are extremely handy for getting sensors, probes or limit switches to work with electronic controllers.
If your controller only supports NPN signals but your probe is PNP only, you can easily convert the signal to the required one your controller understands.
Wiring is very simple, one side is for your sensor, the other side is for your controller. The barrel of the converter shows the direction the signal is flowing.
