CNC3D Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CNC3D Pty Ltd (ABN 95 649 541 202) ("CNC3D", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use our website or software, buy from us or contact us. Although we're a small business, we follow the Australian Privacy Principles as best practice.

What we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

​

  • your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses

  • business details such as your business name and ABN (for example, for quotes and business finance)

  • order details, purchase history, and quote, return and warranty requests, including photos or videos you send us

  • messages you send us by email, phone, website chat or forms

  • account and community information, such as your member profile and anything you post in our forums or groups

  • website usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and the site you came from

 

We don't collect or store your full card details. Card and other payments are processed by our payment providers.

 

How we collect it
We collect most personal information directly from you, when you place an order, request a quote, create an account, fill in a form, use our website chat or contact us. We also collect some information automatically through cookies and similar technologies (see below), and from third parties such as our payment providers, Procuret (about the status of your finance application) and couriers (about your delivery).

 

How we use it
We use your personal information to:

  • process, invoice and deliver your orders and quotes

  • provide support, and handle returns, refunds and warranty claims

  • manage your account and our community features

  • confirm payments and help prevent fraud

  • understand how our website is used and improve it

  • show our ads to people who have visited our website (see Cookies, analytics and advertising)

  • meet our legal obligations, such as tax and record keeping

 

We don't send marketing emails or newsletters.

 

Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including:

  • Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our website

  • Google Ads, to measure our ads, track calls from our ads and show our ads to people who have visited our website

  • the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Pixel, to measure our ads and show our ads to people who have visited our website

 

These tools may collect information such as your IP address, device details and the pages you visit, and Google and Meta may combine it with other information they hold about you, under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad personalisation in your Google and Meta account settings. Some parts of our website, such as the cart and checkout, may not work properly without cookies.

 

Who we share it with
We only share your personal information as needed to run our business, including with:

​

  • Wix, which hosts our website, online store, forms, chat and member accounts, and the Wix apps that run parts of our website (such as our affiliate program)

  • our payment providers: Square, PayPal, Afterpay, Klarna and, for business finance, Procuret

  • Gifted, which issues and manages our gift cards

  • couriers and freight companies, such as Australia Post, Aramex, TNT, Mainfreight, FedEx and UPS

  • our partner factory, for orders shipped directly to you (your name, delivery address and phone number)

  • customs and border authorities, for international orders

  • our professional advisers, such as our accountant

  • government agencies, courts or law enforcement, where required or authorised by law

 

We don't sell or rent your personal information.

 

Our software (CNC3D Commander and the CNC3D Design Suite)
Our desktop software runs on your computer and talks to your CNC controller over USB or your local network. Your designs, G-code and machine settings stay on your computer unless you choose to send them somewhere. The software contains no advertising or tracking. It connects to the internet only for these things:

  • Updates and firmware. The software checks our download server for new versions and downloads them, along with controller firmware when you update a controller. Our server records the IP address, time and files requested. We use these records to count downloads and to spot problems, such as antivirus software blocking a download.

  • Your CNC3D account. If you sign in to a CNC3D Business account, the information you enter (such as your name, email address, business details, jobs, clients and products) is stored on our servers in Australia so it's available on your other devices.

  • Feedback. If you send feedback or a bug report from the software, we receive what you write, any screenshots or files you attach, and your account's email address.

  • AI assistant. The AI assistant is optional and stays off until you enter your own Anthropic API key. When you use it, your messages and any files you attach are sent directly from your computer to Anthropic, the maker of Claude, under Anthropic's terms and privacy policy. We don't receive or store them.

  • AI 3D model generator. If you use Generate 3D model in the Design Suite, the words you type and any picture you upload are sent to our servers in Australia, which pass them to our AI processing provider, fal.ai (United States), to make the pictures and the 3D relief. We keep the pictures and reliefs made for you, with your token use, in your CNC3D account.

 

Overseas disclosure
Some of the organisations above store or process information outside Australia. This includes the United States (for example Wix, Google, Meta, PayPal, Gifted, Anthropic and fal.ai) and China (our partner factory, for orders it ships directly to you). For international orders, your details are also shared with couriers and customs authorities in the destination country.

 

Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including by using secure, reputable service providers. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll let you know where required by law.

 

How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law. For example, we keep order and invoice records for at least 5 years for tax purposes. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify

it.

 

Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing accounts@cnc3d.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days. If we can't give you access or make a correction, we'll explain why.

 

Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please email accounts@cnc3d.com.au with the details. We'll look into it and respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Our website links to other websites, such as our payment providers and Procuret. We're not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.

 

Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
