The current lead time on a QB2 1000x1500 is 4-6 weeks*
Lead times are estimates only and may change without notice due to build volume or stock availability.
Lead times refer to production time only and does not include shipping transit time.
Lead time starts once initial payment has been received.
NOTE: A flat rate shipping fee is applied, to receive an accurate quote please fill in your details HERE
If you place an order directly via the website and the shipping is more than the flat rate amount charged, you will receive an invoice for the difference, or you order will be cancelled!
After receiving your machine make sure to un-crate it, even if you are still building your table. See "How We Ship" for more info!
Meet the QB2, the final evolution of our Australian made QueenBee CNC.
We have listened to and observed the feedback of the CNC community and we believe the QB2 design is the most overly engineered and well priced CNC machines in the serious hobby to light commercial CNC machine category.
The QB2 has had some serious upgrades over its predecessor with high precision ballscrews on all axes and the Z axis linear rails now use larger HGR15 profile rails on the Z axis to provide superior results on a variety of materials.
Classified a heavy duty hobby machine, it's built for serious home hobby CNC operators who want to beautifully shear through alloys like brass and aluminium up to 30mm thickness with ease.
The QB2 was designed to make light work of materials such as:
- Timbers (All)
- Plastics (All)
- Foams (If machinable)
- Alloys (Aluminium and brass)
- Composite panels
Each QB2 machine includes:
Nighthawk CNC controller
Easy probing mount Limit switches
Endmills to get started (with spindle option)
All wiring and cabling
A fitted MDF spoilboard
Choose between a 3 axis or 4 axis machine:
You have the option of choosing between a 3 axis or 4 axis machine. Our Nighthawk controller that comes with your QB2 supports up to 4 independent axes.
A 3 axis machine will allow you to work on one side of a job at a time, whereas a 4 axis machine will allow you to work on all sides of your job except the very ends.
Example: You are cutting out a detailed table leg. You want to machine both sides of the leg. A 3 axis machine will need you to machine one side, then flip it over and do the other side.
If you had a 4 axis machine the timber will turn itself over precisely so you can do the other side in the one job.
Please Note: There are a lot of simpler CAM programs out there that support 3 axis job creation like Easel. Most do not support 4 axis machining. You may need to consider learning a more detailed CAM software package such as Vectric or Fusion360 for 4 axis jobs.
You can still use only 3 axes to start with and simply add your 4th axis on later when you are ready to advance.
Choosing the 1.5kw Spindle option:
The 1.5kw air-cooled spindle is well matched to the design and performance of the QB2. The spindle itself has a 65mm diameter and supports ER11 collets allowing a maximum shank size of up to 1/4" (6.35mm). It features 3 ball bearings and is designed to work for extended periods of time provided that it is run at 16,000 RPM or more.
For fully assembled, ready to go QB2 machines, we supply a genuine IP66 rated 1.5kw Invertek VFD to drive your spindle. All our VFDs on fully assembled QB2's are fully C-tick approved and fully electrically fitted and complied for use in domestic and commercial environments.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Fully assembled QB2 machines come with an 1.5kw IP66 Invertek VFD.
Choosing our Quick-access magnetic dust shoe option:
Keeping your machine and workshop clean and tidy is something not to be overlooked.
Made from durable plastic, our quick-access magnetic dust shoes make keeping your machine clean and tidy, setting your zero, changing endmills and observing your job a Snap!
Simply detach and reattach the magnetic front cover, attach your vacuum hose and away you go.
Choosing a Probe:
We offer 2 types of probes; A Z axis only probe and an XYZ probe. Using a probe is a great way to find the edges and top of your jobs very accurately and easily. Our CNC3D Commander software has an easy probing wizard that makes probing very easy for both the Z only probe and the XYZ probe.
For those who simply want to set their job zero on the surface on a piece of material the Z probe is a great option. For those who want to find the actual corner of a piece of stock the XYZ probe is the perfect tool for precisely positioning the cutting tool directly over the corner.
Every QB2 CNC comes with a quick connect probe port right on your Z axis.
Should I choose the 15w laser option?
A laser is a great way of putting finishing touches on a timber or leather project and can produce beautiful grayscale engravings or branding on your products. Please note: We do not guarantee that our lasers will cut anything but some of our customers have surprised us with just how capable our 15w lasers really are!
Please Note: T-tracks are NOT included with your machine. They are available for separate purchase if required. They can be found HERE. You can also add some clamps HERE
