A compression cutter starts with a 4mm up cut section then has the rest of the cutting area a downcut, they are specifically designed to leave a clean finish on both top and bottom surfaces when profile cutting. They are also much quieter in operation than a 2F straight cut and produce cleaner side edges.
 
These endmills are made from solid Japanese carbide and have no coating at all.

Please Note
Compression cutters like to run a bit faster than other wood cutting bit to get the best finish along the side of your material.
 
Please note: The 8mm or larger shank variants of these endmills will not fit a 1.5kW spindle or an ER11 collet, such as those supplied standard with CNC3D QueenBee, Ultimate Bee and QB2 machines. ER11 collets have a maximum shank capacity of 7mm.
