CNC3D Commander build 348
Released 13 August 2026. Version 1.1 build 348 of CNC3D Commander and the CNC3D Design Suite: 4 new features, 4 bug fixes. Download the latest build (free, Windows).
New features
Full FluidNC controller support. CNC3D Commander now connects to FluidNC-based controllers with complete settings editing built in. Commander reads and writes the FluidNC configuration for you, so there is no YAML file editing, and most setting changes apply instantly with no controller reboot.
NightHawk S3: automatic input shaping tuning with the accelerometer pod. Measure your machine resonance with one click, after a homing cycle, or automatically before each job starts.
CNC3D design suite: you can now choose where Z zero is measured from - the stock surface (the normal way) or the machine bed. Bed referencing suits fixed bit setters and repeat production work, and through cuts always end exactly at the bed. Find it under Stock, Start Point. The 3D visualizer reads the choice from the job file and sets itself automatically.
CNC3D design suite: the canvas grid is now a toolbar button next to the rulers - switch it on and set your grid size in the same click.
Bug fixes
Fixed text created from decorative fonts with overlapping outlines tracing and cutting incorrectly.
Fixed a rare freeze at the end of tracing a job outline from the SD card.
Fixed V-carving dragging a fine scratch across the surface when travelling between letters. The cutter now lifts to your Safe Z whenever it moves between separate parts of a carving.
Fixed plasma cutting adding unwanted lead-in and lead-out cuts to open lines and paths. An open line now simply fires the torch at the start point, cuts to the end and stops. Single lines, freehand polylines and polygons drawn with the shape tools now also export correctly in Plasma, Laser and Pen/Knife modes.
