CNC3D Commander build 350
Released 25 August 2026. Version 1.1 build 350 of CNC3D Commander and the CNC3D Design Suite: 3 new features, 1 bug fix, a NightHawk firmware update. Download the latest build (free, Windows).
New features
Commander now has three experience levels, chosen in Settings > General: Beginner, Advanced and Expert. Beginner keeps every guided warning exactly as before. Advanced trims back the reminders experienced users click straight past. Expert also skips the common protection prompts, such as the job issue checker acknowledgement, the streaming-over-WiFi notice and the USB job warning, so seasoned operators get straight to work. Everyone starts in Beginner and you can change at any time.
CNC3D Design suite now supports Image to STL generation. Just import a normal Image file and Use the Wizard to convert it to an STL for quick import. This tool is very cool!
Tiled jobs in the G-code Wizard can now restart the spindle after each tile slide and wait a spin-up delay you choose before cutting continues, for machines where the spindle stops during the move. Jobs that keep the spindle running are completely untouched.
Bug fixes
Fixed the SD card folder view coming up empty after connecting while the list view was selected. Both views are now built together from the same card listing every time it is read, so they stay in sync whichever one you prefer, and both clear properly when you disconnect.
Nighthawk Firmware Update to V3.1
Fixes a controller crash that could restart the machine in the middle of a job when running or monitoring jobs over WiFi. If your machine has ever restarted itself mid-job on SD card, we strongly recommend taking this update. It applies to all NightHawk controllers, including the NightHawk Scribe. This is a serious bug fix!
