Released 5 November 2026. Version 1.1 build 362 of CNC3D Master Suite: 13 new features, 16 bug fixes, a NightHawk firmware update. Download the latest build (free, Windows).

New features

  • Commander: the Navigator Config Tool's About and Network tabs show the Navigator's IP address and whether its WiFi is connected.

  • Commander: opening the address list searches your network for NightHawk controllers. A failed connect offers any controller found on the network instead of a bare error.

  • Commander: a tool change resume goes only once everything has stopped, so a resume during a jog can no longer crash the job. The tool change window itself also waits for the machine to stop before it appears.

  • Commander: uploading a machine profile from the Profiles tab now restarts the controller so every setting takes effect, after the usual confirmation.

  • Commander: Network Settings no longer insists on a Wi-Fi network name, so Ethernet users can apply the rest without one.

  • Commander: the unexpected controller restart warning shows once per controller start-up instead of again after every reconnect (with firmware 3.5).

  • Tool Library: the GO! button on every factory TurboCut cutter opens that exact size on the store, already selected.

  • Tool Library: your tools now keep rolling automatic backups and reinstalling Commander no longer resets your tool list. If the tool file ever goes missing, empty or damaged it is put back by itself and the library tells you.

  • Commander and Design Suite: a window remembered bigger than the screen is brought back within reach when the program starts or when you un-maximise.

  • Commander now remembers your external controls: Settings has a tick box each for the WHB04B pendant, game pad, Shuttle pendant and keyboard, and they come back on by themselves next time. If you use the keyboard or a Shuttle, tick yours once.

  • Design Suite: in the Explorer, Up and Down now move a shape within its own group when you have picked it inside that group.

  • Design Suite: drag any shape or group to any spot in the Explorer, and it stays exactly where it is on the canvas and keeps its toolpath settings.

  • Design Suite: picking a shape in the Explorer and going to the Toolpath tab now edits that shape only.

Bug fixes

  • Commander: an SD card job that the controller cannot start from the chosen line (busy, a card error or a line past the end of the file) now stops the machine and tells you why, instead of sitting on Preparing to start forever.

  • Commander: a job started from a line no longer runs its first bare X Y moves as rapids; the job's own feed move is restored before it carries on.

  • Commander: the C3DTHC and Navigator config tools open over the Help window and can always be brought back after Help is closed.

  • Commander: the Current/Microstepping page is available again when connected to a FluidNC controller.

  • Tool Library: the GO! button on the V engraving cutters opens the right page.

  • Design Suite: groups now simply hold shapes together, so every shape cuts on its own toolpath settings and a group no longer cuts as one pocket with islands.

  • Design Suite: if an older project used a group as a pocket with an island, the inner shape now cuts too. To keep the island, put the inner shape on top of the pocket and set its Depth to 0 on the Toolpath tab.

  • Design Suite: the top of the Explorer list is now on top in every group, and an older group shows its true stack the first time you change its order.

  • Design Suite: a rectangle, circle, line or text off the top or left edge now reopens where you left it instead of coming back mirrored.

  • Design Suite: Add to Group on the right-click menu keeps a shape exactly where it is, including going into a rotated group.

  • Commander: while a job is running, an external control can no longer move the machine, and Stop, Pause and the overrides still work.

  • Commander: a game pad does nothing until its sticks and buttons have been seen at rest, so a stick held at start-up can't move the machine.

  • Commander: a failed firmware update now says it failed instead of saying it worked.

  • Commander: a held E-stop is now named plainly, and Unlock keeps showing the reason until it is released.

  • Commander: refreshing the SD card list during a job is refused with a plain message, and the job carries on.

  • Commander: New Folder on the SD card now tells you if the controller refused it.

Nighthawk Firmware Update to V3.5

  • Start from line no longer leaves the machine silent while it skips ahead: status keeps flowing and a start line past the end of the file is reported instead of the job hanging.

  • The controller reports how many lines a card file has when asked, so the CNC3D Navigator can show it before a start from line.

  • The NightHawk now takes the CNC3D Navigator over WiFi on its own channel, so it never gets in Commander's way.

  • A network session that disappeared without closing no longer blocks every new connection until the controller is restarted.

  • The controller now logs who connected over the network, why a session ended and when a second connection was refused because one is already open.

  • Access point mode now uses WPA2 only and logs devices joining and leaving.

  • A tool change resume is refused while anything is still moving, so resuming during a jog can no longer crash the job.

  • More free memory on every NightHawk: Bluetooth's memory is released whenever WiFi mode is in use.

  • Commander can find your NightHawk on the network without typing its address.

  • Commander warns about an unexpected controller restart only once per restart.

  • If your WiFi network drops or isn't there at power-on, the controller keeps trying to rejoin behind its access point instead of waiting for a reset.

  • A held E-stop now keeps the machine locked until it is released and unlocked.

  • Fixed a restart that could happen when a web browser or other tool polled the controller during a long card read or start from line.

  • A web browser or upload that stops part way can no longer leave the controller deaf until a reset.

  • Settings changed just before a power cycle are no longer lost.

  • A command to delete the card's top folder is now refused, as it could wipe the card.
